It's pretty. It makes you even prettier. And it helps save the bees. What's not to like? I must admit that I'd never heard of the make-up company Chantecaille. But what a fun discovery! First the important stuff taken from their website: "All CHANTECAILLE products are not tested on animals. There are no animal derivatives, lanolin or mineral derivatives in the products. All skincare products are free of synthetic colors and fragrances, and do not contain any sulfate detergents, phthalates, nor petrochemicals."
And since the company focuses on using natural botanicals, it's philosophy is to give back to nature. The founder of the Chantecaille is French-born Sylvie Chantecaille. Wanting to take a more holistic approach to beauty, she launched Chantecaille in 1997 after working at the head of a cosmetic giant.
Chantecaille just launched its beautiful Save the Bees Eye and Cheek Palette. The palette includes Honey, a golden highlighter for both eyes and cheek and Nectar Blush. The eye shades are Sky and Beehive, a versatile gray beige color. And of course, it is paraben-free.
This little bit of beauty comes with a price. The retail price in the USA is $83. But here comes the good news. Chantecaille will donate 5% of the proceeds to The Xerces Society to help protect bees and our environment. Unfortunately, they do not ship outside of the USA. But if you're lucky enough to be in Berlin, Quartier 206 in Berlin Mitte carries Chantecaille products.
